On the second Saturday of each month, at 19:00 UTC (aka 8:00pm BST during summer) the Isle of Wight Radio Society and GOTAhams sponsor the Marconi Net.
The Marconi Net is a transatlantic repeater-to-repeater linkup (via the Internet) between amateur radio repeaters: GB3IW and WG6OTA. The purpose is to facilitate local amateur radio experiences not often available on local analogue repeaters. All licensed hams within the range of GB3IW will have the opportunity to talk RF or Echolink through the IoW repeater with our American counterparts.
Join in for an opportunity to meet Technicians, General, Advanced and Extra Class licensees from the USA, to exchange ideas, opinions, and fellowship.
No special programming of your radio is requiredโjust transmit to GB3IW as usual.
It is anticipated that these will be round-table nets with opportunities to introduce yourself, your interests, and your station.

(* This is not a Fort Purbrook ARC event; this is listed here for club member’s awareness of our IoWRS friends’ activity).
