How to arrange a visit

You’re thinking about joining an amateur radio club, and you want to check that you and the club members are a good match.

Maybe you’ve been licensed for years but have fallen-out of the hobby. You’d like to try TXing again for an afternoon.

How could you make any of this happen?

Visitors are welcome at our Amateur Radio Club

🚗💨You’re welcome to pop down to Fort Purbrook Amateur Radio Club (north of Portsmouth, atop Portsdown Hill). Talk with us at one of our monthly Friday evening meetings, or see what we do during a field event. We could also supervise you in an arranged trial in our club shack (OFCOM licensing terms may apply).

Our Scheduled Club Meetings are on the last Friday of the month at Fort Purbrook (the exception being our December meeting, which is scheduled earlier in the month due to the holidays). We hold various Field Events during the warmer months at the Fort each year. You’re welcome to come to any of these meetings or events.

Just so that you know: we ask all attendees (club members, visitors and guests) to pay £1-per-meeting to cover our hire costs at Fort Purbrook, but refreshments are completely free (please bring your own mug as we are a green facility without plastic cups).
📨If you prefer, you could send a message to our Membership Secretary (Peter G4NKX) or our Honorary Chair (Geoff G4XMJ) to let us know when to welcome you. Just click here to go to our contact form and get in touch 👍.
