Special Event Station Weekend
Saturday 30th August starts around 0930 with gazebo and antenna setting up.
As soon as this is complete, we’ll start activating our GB1PF Palmerston Forts Special Event Station.
We’ll continue making calls to QSO until the end of Saturday and will resume on Sunday 31st August from 0930 until 1500. We then will start to pack up the weekend, ending the special event.
Important Information! β οΈ
The Portsmouth Boat Jumble at Fort Purbrook will be taking place on Sunday 31st. There will be NO visitor access on that day. If you’d like to visit, this can be arranged for Saturday only, but you must contact the club in advance as described here. About GP1PF
GP1PF is our special event representing the historic Victorian military defence buildings known as the Palmerston Forts,Β encircling the City of Portsmouth (Hampshire β south coast of England).
This special event evolved from the Fort Purbrook Amateur Radio Club establishing itself at one of the substantial pieces of Victorian architecture, Fort Purbrook; it inspired the focus of our special event station.
GB1PF was activated for the first time in July 2014.
For further information, see The History of GB1PF or our GB1PF QRZ Page.
