📡 END-FED ANTENNAS ON VHF… without maths!

A brief review of last night’s club meeting (June 2025).

Chris G3WIE treated club members to an engaging talk on the group of antennas commonly called Flowerpot, Slim Jim, and J-Pole… showing us why they work, why they don’t, how to make them do when they don’t, and how common claims made about them over the years are kinda rubbish!

Steve (SWL) showed us his impressively constructed homebrew 2m/70cm flowerpot antenna, which he CANNOT YET USE to transmit as he’s working towards his foundation licence examination soon. We wish him good fortune.

We’re invited to test out what we learnt at our next field event on the 5th & 6th July 2025.
