  • Experimenters: Members are welcome to setup and experiment with their own kit, keeping outside of the 4m band during the contest.
  • Other Fort Activities: none we know about at this time.
  • Procedures: The rules for the weekend will be published on the club forum

Overview

Saturday 19th July 0930 is when we start setting up a gazebo and the VHF mast. Once that’s done, experimenting on any band can begin. When the contest starts, priority for VHF operating is given to 4m.

We try to make lots of contacts and long distance contacts, but we don’t take contesting too seriously. If you haven’t tried a VHF contest before, it’s a good opportunity to have a go. There’d be another, more experienced, operator to help you.

The day finishes at 2100 which is when we have to leave the Fort. We’ll return the following morning to take down and tidy up.
