What is 145 Alive?
145 Alive activity events are activities intended to encourage participation on 2m FM Simplex.
They are not contests!
At the arranged time, listen on your local frequency (see the Facebook group for the latest details, or the table below) to take part in your local net. Each net will have a controller who will encourage QSOs between participants. You can take part in more than one net.
We’ll try to update this post with a summary of the 2m frequencies nearer the time.
Updates
Location map now has Net Controller frequency assigned to each location.
Updates from the Facebook group follows…
⚠️WEATHER WARNING!
(Pete DFL) You can still play safe, and smaller; you only need a car, radio (mobile rig or handheld) and a simple mag mount to join in. This is not VHF NFD!
Always be ready to deploy a minimal setup from a lower, more sheltered site.
Avoid parking under or near trees.
If the wind is too bad, the drive-on plate, telescopic mast, and long yagi/white stick aerial can stay nice and warm, dry in the car with you!

Planning the Best QTH!
QTH📡We’ve made available an article on how to Plan the Best Location for 145 Alive using a free online tool for topology, and propagation of the 2m band. Your physical location for VHF QSOs can make all the difference between crystal clear transmissions and garbled static.

December ’24
We now have 47 Nets agreed for the next event on the 26th of January 2025 (12 noon to 3pm).
We have great coverage and I am still hopeful that we will get some more from Ireland to add to the list. Map and Net Control List attached.
