Field Weekend (Activating G3CNO with IOTA contest)

Main Points of the Weekend:

• Activating our club call-sign G3CNO in the IOTA (Islands On The Air) HF Contest from 1300 local time (Saturday 26th July) until 1300 local time (Sunday 27th July) 80m, 40m, 20m, 15m, 10m, CW & SSB only
• Outside of the contest operating on HF bands with the club’s equipment.
• Experimenters: Members are welcome to setup and experiment with their own kit, staying clear of the contest HF bands while the contest is in progress.
• Other Fort Activities: none we know about at this time.
• Procedures: The rules for the weekend will be published on the club forum
• Visitors: Welcome by prior arrangement (see below). Please don’t just turn up as the Fort is locked at weekends, and you won’t be able to get in. The weekend’s procedures will be emailed to invited visitors who are required to abide by them

Overview

Saturday 5th July from 0930 is gazebo & antennas Set-up time. Once that’s done, operating on HF bands with the club equipment, or experimenting on any band, can begin. When the contest starts, priority is given to contest operation on the IOTA HF bands. The day ends when we’ve had enough, certainly by 2100.

Sunday 6th July from 0930 continues as for Saturday. After the contest finishes at 1300 there’s a couple of hours for other HF operating and/or experimenting. We start to pack up at 1500

The operating schedule (who operates when, and on which band) will be determined by the event organiser
